Chestnut House has been a Prep School House since 1970. It is ideally situated close to the Prep School campus, it has its own hard, floodlit play are and is adjacent to a small wooded area in which pupils can play.
The house has space for 32 boys from the whole of the prep school age range. It boasts cosy dorms, a fully equipped games room and small gym, an IT suite and a music practice room.
The Houseparents are Stuart and Julia Coates, who have been houseparents at MPS since the late 1980's. Stuart is a teacher of Maths, History and Games. Julia is a junior class teacher. Stuart and Julia enjoy travelling and spend most of their holidays walking on the Yorkshire coast and hills. They have two daughters. Rachel is 19 and a third year student at Southampton University and Laura is in her first year at Warwick University.
The staff at Chestnut House work together aiming to provide a home from home for the boys where they feel safe, well cared for and supported and enabled to make the most of the wonderful opportunities MPS affords them.
