Weekend activities
Sundays can be a day for relaxing back at house but boarders have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities that can include: air gun shooting, archery, art, badminton, basketball, board games, canoeing, climbing wall, cookery, cricket, cycling, dance, football, golf, go-karting, music practice, pottery, quiz, riding, scalextric, scuba diving, swimming, squash, tennis, table tennis, trampolining, treasure hunt, walking and yoga.
They can also join in the trips to wildlife parks, toboganning, laser tag, bowling, cinema, fishing, beach, ice skating, quads, paintball, shopping and jet skiing. The children are spoilt for choice! Every two weeks or so on a Sunday morning there is a short religious service.
Prep
Prep is an hour when pupils do their homework. It is an individual task, although there are plenty of people to help pupils if they need it. Some houses choose to do prep in their dormitories, whilst others complete it in their common rooms.
Relaxing at house
The boarding house environment at MPS is like a ‘home from home' where the boarders can feel safe and well cared for. Time in the evenings is a relaxed affair, most preferring to chat with their friends in the comfort of their common rooms or bedrooms. The more energetic have access to a wide range of facilities and entertainment including trampolines, sports fields, tennis courts, basketball nets, swings, computers, televisions, football, table tennis and pool tables. After prep and before bedtime everyone looks forward to snacks which may include toast, cakes, cereals, fresh fruit and vegetables, biscuits, soup, juice, hot chocolate and milkshakes.
