Capital Development Projects
Our development programme continues apace and includes:
- The official opening of our magnificent new Concert Hall and Music Department on 19 June 2007. This new Music School is already in use in the heart of the Senior School campus.
- Completion of the new Golf Driving Range.
- Conversion of the old Music Department to provide a new Day Boy Centre, Campus Reception and Telephone Exchange and a modern Travel Office for use by pupils and staff.
- Extensions, developments and improvements to 4 of our Boarding Houses at both schools.
- A new Language Development Centre at the Preparatory School to be followed by a new hard play area on the existing site.
- Completion of a new General Office and Reception at the Preparatory School.
- A new 6th Form Boarding House for 33 girls due for completion during the summer of 2007.
- Planning approval has been received for a new Chemistry Department and Science Lecture Theatre at the Senior School. This project is due to commence within the next 12 months.
- Planning applications have been made for the redevelopment of our land to the north of the A361 combined with a new entrance to the Preparatory School.
- After 3 years of studies and consultation we have now reached the stage where we are able to submit a planning application for the creation of a Sailing Lake on land at the Preparatory School, adjacent to a new Polo field, more riding stables and a horse cross country course.
Finally, plans are being developed for new teaching departments at Millfield, including Business Studies, Economics, PE, RE, History and Geography. These are all part of the current 5 year development plan.
