P.A.C.E.
“Tens of thousands of people never find out where their talent is. Where else are they going to find out but at school?” Terry Pratchett, Author At Millfield Preparatory School we aim to give all pupils the opportunity to shine and to demonstrate ability. One of the programmes that facilitate this is the P.A.C.E. programme. PACE stands for Potential Academic and Curricular Excellence. Talented pupils have special requirements and these requirements need to be met. P.A.C.E. aims to identify and challenge pupils who demonstrate exceptional ability, or the potential to excel, in any area of our curriculum. A child’s talent may not be immediately visible, it may need to be gently prised out into the open and it will certainly need to be nurtured. Potential - How untutored ‘raw talent’ can be unlocked Attainment – Have pupils reached significant levels to suggest exceptional ability or promise? Commitment - Is there the will as well as the skill? Enrichment – A desire to experience and explore in order to learn If you believe you could stand the pace and perhaps be a pace setter then talk to us. If you enjoy problem solving and general knowledge If you like to give things a ‘go’ If you respond quickly to new ideas and challenges …then you could be a PACE Setter Do you know how far a dog can run into the woods? Do you know which country has a 4th July? Do you know how many sides a circle has? If you do then you could be up for the challenge Ten Two Letter Words - If it is to be it is up to me! We all have ability. The difference is the way we use it.
