Pupils' Art display in West Mendip Community Hospital
Art work from Year 7 pupils are currently on display in the entrance of West Mendip Community Hospital, Glastonbury. The work, inspired by West African pattern and design, is the result of pupils' study into West African culture which has included workshops in dance, drumming, printmaking and food technology. The pupils looked very closely at geometric and repeat pattern and used imagery and colour from West African textiles and ceramic decoration to complete their compositions. Peter Maxwell said "it would be very good to organise a regular exhibition of pupils' work". The exhibition runs until end of this month.
