Millfield Preparatory pupils support Haiti
A large cake sale raised around £1,500 and over half term pupils Amelia and Isaac Low decided to have a film party where family and friends raised a staggering £877, or equivalent to 16 shelters, themselves. Every year they have joint birthday parties and this year Isaac suggested that instead of presents they ask for money for the Haiti appeal after hearing about it at school. They went to Wells cinema and watched "AstroBoy" which they thoroughly enjoyed and received the money instead of presents.
Millfield Preparatory as a direct response to the Haiti Earthquake, decided to support the World Vision appeal fund to buy temporary family shelters. Each shelter costing £52 would provide emergency relief for stricken families.
In total Millfield Preparatory has raised around £2,350 or 45 shelters.
